Titre: Missing Exceptional Phenomena Table
Posté par: JohnK le 14/08/2016 - 04:45:49
Hullo, folks,

In the Polaris CRB1, in the section on the Polaris Effect, on page 264, under the Temporal Shift ability, in the second column, on a result of 91-92, it says to roll on the Exceptional Phenomena Table, only... I've not been able to find this table.

Anyone know where it is? :)

Hello,

After a few search, I found it in the french version (and so I found it in the english version to)
It's refer to a table in the "POLARIS INCIDENTS" list (page 254) "100 or higher. Release of a unique phenomenon:"
In french it was "100 or higher. Release of a Exceptional phenomenon:"

Hullo, Alrik,

Hello,

That's certainly handy to have the French edition as well, to be able to do comparisons. :)

I'm not sure I quite understand that, but it makes sense to me that it would potentially refer to the Polaris Incidents Table.  Could be quite nasty. :)

Sorry for my bad english.
I'll try to be more clear.

The Exceptional Phenomena Table your searching for is in the Polaris incidents list under the result "100 or higher. Release of a unique phenomenon:" (page 254)

100 or higher. Release of a unique phenomenon:
The character’s failure causes the appearance of an
extremely odd and dangerous phenomenon (in the same
conditions as for the “90–99. Accidental power release”).
Roll 1D10 to determine its nature:
°° 1. Flux tear
°° 2. Molecular breakdown
°° 3. Psychic obliteration
°° 4–7. Polaris wave
°° 8. Flux storm
°° 9. Psychic vortex
°° 10. Physical vortex

In the french version, the exact same word where used in the title of this paragraph and the descirption of the Polaris effect  "Temporal Shift ability".
That's how I found it.

That's all right.  It's not just your English, it's also my understanding of stuff these last few days. :)

Ah, okay, now I understand.  Your reference to page 254 above is off, at least when it comes to the English version of the book.  The result of 100 or higher on the Polaris Incidents table is on page 251.  And calls it a unique phenomenon.

Superb!  Always good.  Does the French version of the game have an Index at the back?  The two English Corebooks don't, unfortunately.
